Honorary degree and citation are housed inside a purple folder with a gold engraved seal of the University of London and the words "University of London." Folder is bound with a thin purple rope and 2 tassels. Interior of folder has a gray velvet pocket on the left that holds a 2-page citation. The left pocket is a view frame with a gold border holding the honorary degree.
The 2 page citation has the blue, red, and yellow seal of the University of London. It outlines Mr Mandela's many achievements in life and in education. It also recognizes Mr Mandela's relationship with the University of London.
The degree has the blue, red, and yellow seal of the University of London at the top, and the pressed seal in the bottom left corner. Certificate reads:
