Nelson Mandela Tribute in New York City, 2014.02.13, New York City: [Set of 43 Images]

A tribute concert in honor of Nelson Mandela at St Paul the Apostle Church in New York City celebrating his life and legacy, and the 20th anniversary of democratic freedom in South Africa.
Morgan Freeman performed dramatic readings from the original transcripts of Mr. Mandela's letters, speeches, and personal writings. These readings were accompanied by the world-famous Soweto Gospel Choir, who filled the cathedral with songs that honoured Mandela’s life and vision.
President Bill Clinton gave a special tribute speech to Nelson Mandela and the work of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, celebrating Mr. Mandela's life and all that has been accomplished in South Africa in the twenty years since democracy was realized. Organised in collaboration with the Clinton Foundation and CultureHorde.

Human Rights Watch

Human Rights Watch began in 1978 as Helsinki Watch (HW), a monitoring group of compliance by the former Soviet Union and communist bloc countries with the human rights provision of the 1975 Helsinki Final Act. It later extended its activities to other regions of the world, including Africa. It produces research reports on violations of human rights and pressurises governments and international organisations.

''Peace Bench" at the UN Plaza unveiled in honour of Nelson Mandela

As a symbol of diplomacy and dialogue, the installation pays tribute to Nelson Mandela and his efforts to bring people together to find effective solutions for peace. The installation will remain at the Headquarters’ plaza through September 2018, when the plan is to transfer it to Oslo and a permanent location near the Nobel Peace Center and the Oslo City Hall.

President Bill Clinton hosted a benefit in his private office to honour the lasting legacy of Nelson Mandela. This event marks the launch of a new Foundation initiative to promote Mr Mandela’s legacy globally in the years ahead.

Supporters from South Africa, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and Nigeria joined President Clinton, Minister Tokyo Sexwale and Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory CEO Achmat Dangor in paying tribute to Nelson Mandela and his work to promote dialogue and a just society.
