Handover of photos of Nelson Mandela receiving an Honorary Degree Diploma by Soochow University. These photos including two certificates were handed over by Anthony Ho (Ambassador and Taiwanese representative to South Africa), Dr. Wei-ta Pan (President of Soochow University) and Director Angel Y.C.L Wu (Taiwan Foundation for Democracy) to the Chief Executive of the Foundation Sello Hatang during a handover ceremony that was held in the NMF auditorium on the 12th of April 2022.

However, an even greater honour is to have a family named after you because new families are rarely created. Valdés & Gosliner (1999) honoured Nelson Mandela by naming a genus and family of seaslug (Mollusca: Nudibranchia) after him. Mandelia mirocornata has only been recorded along the coast line of the Cape Peninsula.
Elders planted 100 trees in honour of their founder, Nelson Mandela, in a new exhibit representing 100 grass roots organisations that The Elders selected for their demonstration of moral leadership in the spirit of Mandela's legacy. The trees were planted in Delta Park, Johannesburg.
