In view of media speculation based on reports which appear to emanate from Cairo, the President's Office wishes to state that President Mandela's visit on 29 October after his Official Visit to Morocco and on his way back to South Africa will be a very brief visit touching on matters arising out of his recent visit there; that President Mandela will be making no announcements and is not intending to hold a press conference in connection with the visit; and that President Mandela is not seeking to mediate in the Lockerbie matter.
