Two gold plates with forest green matting with gold borders in gold frame.
First gold plate is small, and is engraved in black with the following: Motho Ke Motho Ka Batho Umuntu Ngumuntu Ngabantu
Second, larger plate, below the first plate, includes a silver grill emblem with a gold '1' in the center. Award text, in black, reads:
Mageu Number One Prestige Ubuntu Award
Presented to President Nelson R Mandela by the Maditsela of Mageu Number One, the Premier of North West Province, Popo Molefe, and managing director Kobus Van Graan.
This award is in recognition of the manner in which Mr Mandela has demonstrated the true spirit of Ubuntu in his endeavors to promote reconciliation and co-existence in South Africa.
