This subseries consists of 11 folders of notes written by Nelson Mandela on a variety of sheets of paper, including notebooks and diaries. It covers the period from his release from prison in 1990 to his retirement as President of South Africa in 1999, and up to 2001. It consists of notes of meetings, draft speeches, briefing notes and notes written to himself.
