Izzard is in South Africa to run 27 marathons in 27 days in honour of the 27 years Nelson Mandela spent in prison.
The Government of India donated two million rand to the Nelson Mandela Foundation. The decision to make the donation was made following the visit to South Africa by Prime Minister of India H. E. Mr. Narendra Modi in July 2016
