Video on “A calling to care” a campaign started by Nelson Mandela to respond and act to the HIV/AIDS threat that is facing the country. Nelson Mandela travels through South Africa mobilising South Africa’s traditional community leaders to Care for the people who are affected or infected with HIV/AIDS. Nelson Mandela cautions that people should not discriminate or stigmatise people that are living with the disease and people must talk about sex with the children to make them aware of the dangers of HIV/AIDS in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The campaign focuses on traditional leaders and the role they can play to make the difference.
Proceedings of the HIV/AIDS dialogue held at the Nelson Mandela Foundation attended by deputy minister Noziwe Madlala- Routledge. The dialogue was part of the process of reviewing the Nation Strategic plan on HIV/AIDS. Input from the participants was submitted to the National Department of Health to influence policymaking.

The videotapes are in folders 1 and 2. Each videotape is recorded in three formats. The first format being the use copy MP4. format followed by the MOV. format which has a higher quality followed by the MXF which is broadcast quality. The reason for this is to provide for use copies and also to provide for broadcast quality whenever it is needed.

The Mandela Materials Database is a guide to the Mandela archive located with the Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory and Dialogue and elsewhere. Both local and international repositories have been surveyed for any material on Mr Mandela to include in the database. The purpose of this database is to point researchers to the relevant repositories holding the actual archival material. Although much of the material identified in the database does not relate directly to the Rivonia Trial, it has been referenced here as Mandela was one of the main protagonists in the Rivonia Trial. Any material directly related to the Rivonia Trial as been cross-referenced in this database.
