The Nelson Mandela Centre of Memory hosted a Donor Recognition Ceremony.Tokyo Sexwale and Irene Menell gave Legacy Champion certificates to the Government of India & Vodacom (Pty) Ltd. The Government of India was also recognised for its contribution to the Centre’s building with the unveiling of a plaque at the front entrance. At the ceremony, the Centre of Memory also received a mechanical boost by way of a vehicle donated by Volkswagen SA and a commitment from comedian and actor, Eddie Izzard to a future donation. Izzard is in South Africa to run 27 marathons in 27 days in honour of the 27 years Nelson Mandela spent in prison.
The Nelson Mandela Foundation accepted a generous donation of one million rand from business software solutions firm SAP (software solutions). SAP has supported the work of the Foundation for an extended period of time and has supported the Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture since its inception.

Former Nelson Mandela Foundation Photo Archivist Lucia Raadschelders received the Posthumous Order of the Companions of O.R Tambo in Silver Award bestowed by President Cyril Ramaphosa. The Raadschelders family donated the award to the Foundation.
