There are numerous medalliions and coins named after Mandela and coined in his honour. The first coin was minted in Norway 1993 on the occassion of the Nobel Peace Prize. Coins were also minted to honour his inauguration, his presidency, equal education, his 90th birthday, Robben Island. Coins and medallions are in gold and other precious metals and in different weight.
